Meet Devin

Thirteen years ago, my family became proud Torontonians. We immigrated from Alabama and were welcomed with open arms into the Beaches–East York community. Like many families starting a new chapter, we arrived with uncertainty, but we quickly found something special: a neighbourhood that felt like home.

Giving back became part of our family's story. My parents volunteered with the East York Bulldogs Baseball Organization while my brother and I played, teaching us that strong communities are built by people who step forward to help.

Inspired by their example, I began volunteering at local community events. Today, I have spent three years helping organize some of Ward 19's most beloved traditions, including the Beaches Jazz Festival, Beaches Easter Parade, Canada Day Picnic, and the Pape Village Block Party. Working alongside City staff, local businesses, volunteers, and community organizations has shown me what is possible when neighbours come together with a shared purpose.

I know how fortunate we are to call this community home. We have vibrant main streets, beautiful parks, strong public transit, and neighbourhoods where people genuinely care about one another.

I'm running for City Council because I believe every resident deserves a community that is healthy, connected, and full of opportunity. Together, we can protect what makes Ward 19 special while building a future that works for everyone.

Our Priorities

Moving Better

We have good public transit, but let's make it better.

  • Expand dedicated bus and streetcar priority lanes.

  • Create a continuous east–west cycling corridor from Victoria Park Avenue to downtown.

  • Prepare our neighbourhoods for the arrival of the Ontario Line.

  • Transform Main Street Station and Danforth GO into a true multimodal transit hub.

We are not building a city for cars, we are building a city for people.

Growing Together

Toronto is growing rapidly, and our housing policies should grow with it

  • Rezone our neighbourhoods to allow for more medium-density housing.

  • Strengthen tenant rights and improve landlord accountability.  

  • Reduce property taxes for families who are raising children in their homes. 

  • Rent Control on all residential properties.

Let’s build a Ward 19 that grows together, and that means fair housing.

Thriving Communities

The heart of every community are its people, and the public spaces that bring them together.

  • Improve walkability with safer pedestrian infrastructure.

  • Enhance parks and public spaces where people can gather, relax, and socialize.

  • Beautify our ward through murals and public art created by local artists.

  • Encourage neighbourhood retail and small businesses.

What makes our community special is its village-like feel.
